Territory

Holding territory makes your crew stronger and earns you more $RACKET. The more ground you control — and the better you cluster it — the bigger your advantage.

Cities and Districts

Each City is a hex grid map shared by 50–200 players. The map is divided into districts — individual hexes that Capos can occupy.

Every district has a resource type that provides different bonuses:

District type
Bonus

Racket Hub

Increases $RACKET earnings from the district

Training Ground

Reduces training costs for Capos stationed nearby

Safe House

Provides defensive advantages

Intelligence Post

Boosts Brains-based outcomes

Syndicate HQ

Prestige tile — high value, contested

Claiming a District

Empty districts can be claimed for free by any Capo, at any rank. If nobody holds it, it's yours — just send a Capo there.

Occupied districts require a takeover (see below).

Each Capo can only hold one district at a time.

Territory Bonuses

Holding districts adds to your Heat score, which increases your earnings every epoch.

The bonus gets bigger when your Capos hold adjacent districts:

Cluster size
Heat multiplier

1 district

Base bonus

2 adjacent

1.2×

3 adjacent

1.5×

4+ adjacent

2.0×

Holding a connected block of territory is worth significantly more than scattered solo districts. Plan your map accordingly.

Taking Over a District

To take a district from another player, your Capo must be at Captain rank or above.

Here's how a takeover works:

  1. Your Captain (or higher) challenges the district

  2. A negotiation begins — a 3-turn AI exchange between your Capo and the defender

  3. The outcome is determined by stats (Brains counts most, then Rep, Hustle, Grit, and Muscle)

  4. The winner takes the district. The loser's Capo is returned to their roster unharmed

  5. If you attack, there's a 4-hour cooldown before that Capo can attack again

Negotiations generate a shareable drama card — a formatted summary of the exchange, styled like a movie scene. Worth sharing.

Losing Territory

Your Capo can be challenged by any Captain+ in the city. If they lose:

  • Your Capo returns to your roster (unassigned, unharmed)

  • You lose the district and its Heat bonus

  • No permanent damage — you can reassign that Capo immediately

If a Capo goes 7 days without any activity, they're automatically recalled from their district. Log in and reassign them.

Seasons

Every 2 weeks, the season ends. Standings are calculated based on total Heat earned during the season.

  • Top 10% of the city → promoted to a higher league

  • Bottom 10% of the city → demoted to a lower league

  • Everyone else → stays in the same league

Higher leagues have bigger payout pools, more districts, and tougher competition.
